Stuck In My Head: Mostly Late Edition

A small continuation to what I’ve been listening to lately (read: the past few months.) Got a few songs on my mind and thought I’d share.

It’s first on my list and honestly the main reason for this post entirely. I don’t know enough about music to properly explain why I like it so much, but it’s catchy and the lyrics blend well with the music. Not to mention the video has style.

A bit late on this one, but you’ll have to forgive me as I didn’t actively start seeking new music until earlier this year. Not much to say about it other than it fits into my wheelhouse of fast and upbeat. Or as PJ would put it: that shounen OP music.

First thing I want to mention about this video: the cinematography is great. The way the dancer fluidly moves and flutters through each section is mesmerizing. The song itself is entrancing; super easy to leave on repeat while studying. It’s got a groove that hits me in just the right way.

This one’s what they call a banger. I admit, my snap judgement for the first three seconds of watching the video was “oh god what have I clicked into.” Black and white filter with xylophone chimes calling my worst fears of over-produced pop erupted from my brain. But then 00:04 happens and everything bursts in and falls into place. It’s the kind of song where I find myself nodding along without meaning to. It’s just a feel-good song.

Anyway, that’s what’s been filling up my noggin.

So you’ve transferred schools and moved into a new place with your mom.  Awesome.  The new school your in now is an elite all girls school with a haughty like council president who sexually harasses you for your cellphone.  Oh right, she’s actually your little sister from your step dad.   I also forgot to mention that she moves in with you.  Then big surprise, she gets all lesbian and steals your first kiss.  What’s an older sister to do?

Fuyu no Epilogue (Winter’s Epilogue) by Goosehouse

Rolling through some of Ghoosehouse’s albums and singles, I managed to stumble over this song.  I liked the tone and feel of it, so I decided to dust off my skills and make a karaoke video.  I tried to find an image that fit the winter-y theme meshed with Touhou.

Music I’ve been fiending to that should get more attention

MoeJazz. It’s wonderful stuff if you like jazz interpretations of various anime themes. My favorite is probably their take on Secret Base 10 yr. version, but Nichijou always gets a thumbs-up from me.

Also there’s this song. I don’t usually listen to Touhou stuff, but man it just gets me going.

Lastly, some Nico Touches the Wall. THE BUNGY is one of my favorites.
