The entirety of episode 4 centers around determination and resolve. Mainly concerning Hiro and Zero Two, but also in small part with Ichigo and the rest of her team.
Episode 3 subtly dives into more details while keeping its steady pace of universe building and character development. Things get a little faster with the introduction of their very first actual mission. Of which, realities and gravity of all the characters’ situations are tasted.
After an explosive first episode that left a lot of questions about the story universe untouched, we enter episode 2.
So you’ve transferred schools and moved into a new place with your mom. Awesome. The second episode of Girls und Panzer led into an easter egg hunt, a tank free for all, and almost running someone over with 25 tonnes of German STEEL, but perhaps the cutest part of the entire episode was the introduction of the ending sequence (episode 1 only featured the opening sequence as the ending sequence). It pretty much has the main elite chibi panzer crew cruising around happily in their panzer IV behemoth, as depicted in the screen caps of this post. With a little photoshack magic, It could be wallpaper worthy.
I tried my hand at Busou Shinki, I figured a show about sentient figurine mecha musume shouldn’t be all that bad. It started out like Angelic Layer with the mecha combat tournament jazz but then it dove head first into the SOL (Slice-of-life). Don’t get me wrong though, if your into the everyday life antics of half foot tall mecha musume figurines serving their masters and just hanging out with friends, then this would be your slice of cake. However, to me, it would be a lot more interesting if there was active combat going on. Well, there is the pew pew going on every now and then (which is pretty well animated, least to me) but it isn’t in that shounen sense.
I knew that soft spoken, air-headed characters were a thing, but Mashiro Shiina is just too much. Episode 2 leaves you wanting to forgive her mistakes because of that “just can’t help herself” feeling.
